As one of our first steps in developing our town’s new Comprehensive Plan, the Comprehensive Plan Steering Committee would like to invite all Town Board and Planning Board members to a joint meeting on June 27, 2017 at 6:30 at the Library for an informal discussion.  This will be an informal meeting and facilitated by our consultant Nan Stolzenburg.  Our committee has developed a set of questions we hope we can discuss.  The purpose of this meeting is to learn more about the issues and opportunities you see for the Town of Hunter from your local government perspective.  We hope all members of both boards can join us.  We plan on leaving 10 minutes at the end of the meeting for public comment or questions.

We consider this meeting as a great start to our project by promoting the sharing of information to uncover the needs and challenges in Town.  To prepare you for this meeting, the following topics will be discussed.

  1. Short and long-term needs of the community.
  2. Challenges and issues facing the Town.
  3. Issues your particular Board faces and tools you have to solve them.
  4. Business climate in Town.
  5. Status of current land use laws and need for additional ones.
  6. Infrastructure needs in the Town.

The Comprehensive Plan will guide Hunter for the next 10 to 15 years. Successful development and implementation of the plan relies upon lots of community input. We hope you will join us for this important meeting so that we can fully understand the issues and opportunities you feel are important.
