Kaaterskill Clove / Kaaterskill Falls Visitor and Travel Advisory

As we move into the warmer months, the Town of Hunter will again be implementing a seasonal parking prohibition in the Kaaterskill Clove area of SR-23A. This prohibition is in place from May through October. See below suggestions and please be advised of all special regulations in place when visiting these sensitive areas.

We suggest accessing Kaaterskill Falls via:

🌲 Laurel House Road
🌲 Scutt Road
🌲 South Lake Campground parking area
🌲 KRT Trail from the Mountain Top Historical Society
🌲 Harding Road Parking (Palenville)

🚫 No Parking: Anywhere along Route 23a including the various pull offs, Ice climbers lot and Molly Smith’s parking lot.

NOTICE OF ANNUAL ELECTION OF THE TANNERSVILLE JOINT FIRE DISTRICT

In the Town of Hunter, County of Greene

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to Town Law, the annual election of the TANNERSVILLE JOINT Fire District will be held at the Rescue Squad Building located at 21 Park Lane, Tannersville, New York, on Tuesday the 12th day of December, 2023, between the hours of 6 p.m. and 9 pm. for the purpose of electing one (1) Fire District Commissioner to a five-year term, commencing on January 1, 2024 and ending on December 31, 2028.

Any person desiring to have their name added to the ballot for this position must submit their name and address in writing to the Secretary of the Fire District no later than December 5, 2023.

Those who are qualified to vote at the elections are qualified voters who shall have resided in said Fire District for thirty days next preceding such election. Any person wishing to vote must be registered to vote on or before November 21, 2023.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN; the Town Board of the Town of Hunter will hold the December Regular and Year End Meeting on December 27, 2023, at 6:00 PM at the Town Hall located at 5748 Rte. 23A in Tannersville. There will be no Workshop or Regular meetings held on 12/12/23 or 12/26/23.

Public Hearing – Local Law #3 of 2023 & 2024 Budget Workshop

The Town of Hunter Town Board will conduct a Public Hearing on Thursday 11/2/23 @5:30pm at the Town Hall located at 5748 Rte 23A to hear comments on overriding the Tax Levy Limit established in General Municipal Law (Draft Local Law #3, aka Tax Cap Override law). Immediately following the Public Hearing, there will be a workshop for the 2024 Budget.
