Kaaterskill Clove / Kaaterskill Falls Visitor and Travel Advisory

As we move into the warmer months, the Town of Hunter will again be implementing a seasonal parking prohibition in the Kaaterskill Clove area of SR-23A. This prohibition is in place from May through October. See below suggestions and please be advised of all special regulations in place when visiting these sensitive areas.

We suggest accessing Kaaterskill Falls via:
🌲 The Kaaterskill Trolley Co (link below)
🌲 Laurel House Road
🌲 Scutt Road
🌲 South Lake Campground parking area
🌲 KRT Trail from the Mountain Top Historical Society
🌲 Harding Road Parking (Palenville)

Parking Restrictions Alert
🚫 No Parking: Anywhere along Route 23a including the various pull offs, Ice climbers lot and Molly Smith’s parking lot.
📍 Only park at designated parking lots! –  Have backup options ready.
🚗 If full, move on—don’t risk a ticket or tow!
🚔 Illegally parked? Expect a ticket & tow to: Town of Hunter Town Hall Impound Lot: 5742 NY-23A, Tannersville, NY

Rental of Excavator with Operator Bid Notice

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN; the Town Board of the Town of Hunter will accept sealed bids for the rental of a 25-ton excavator with hydraulic thumb with Operator. Bids in sealed envelopes labeled “Rental of Excavator with Operator” must be submitted to the Town Clerk at the Hunter Town Hall, 5748 Rte. 23A, Tannersville, NY by 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 12, 2024. The bids will be publicly opened and read at a meeting on that same date at 6:00 PM. Bids must include hourly and/or daily rates (based on 8–10-hour workday) and will be effective from 3/14/24-12/31/24. Bids must be accompanied by a non-collusion certificate in accordance with Section 103-d of the GML and must include proof of insurance. The Town Board reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
