Seasonal Limited Use Highway Announcements

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that I have designated the easterly two- and one-half miles of Town of Hunter Route 9, known as Platte Clove Mountain Road, as a seasonal limited use highway. Please be advised that the Town of Hunter shall not maintain nor remove snow or ice from said length of road between November 1, 2023, and May 30, 2024. The scheduled reopening will be weather permitting.

NOTICE OF HEARING UPON PRELIMINARY BUDGET

Notice is hereby given that the Preliminary Budget of the Town of Hunter for fiscal year beginning January 1, 2024 has been completed and filed in the office of the Town Clerk at the Town Hall, 5748 Rte 23A Tannersville where it is available for inspection by any interested party between the hours of 8am and 2pm Mon. – Fri.

Further notice is hereby given that the Town Board of the Town of Hunter will hold a Public Hearing at the Town Hall at 5:30pm on October 24, 2023 and at such hearing, any persons may be heard in favor or against any items contained therein.

Pursuant to Section 113 of Town Law the proposed salaries of the following Town Officers are hereby specified as follows:

Supervisor $ 6,300. yr

Justices (2) $ 13,522. each

Councilpersons(4) $ 3,800. each

Supt. of Highways $ 58,586. yr

Pursuant to Real Property Tax Law Section 495, exemption report available upon request.

Bid Notice – Bucket Truck

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN the Town of Hunter is accepting bids for a 2007-2009 Freightliner bucket truck not to exceed $25,500. The Town will be holding a bid opening on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 7:00 pm at the Town of Hunter Offices, 5748 Route 23A, Tannersville, NY 12485.
Bids in a sealed envelope may be mailed to the Town of Hunter, PO Box 70, Tannersville, NY 12485, or hand delivered to the Town Clerk at the Town of Hunter offices, 5748 Rte. 23A, Tannersville, NY before 3:00 PM Tuesday September 26, 2023.
All bids must be accompanied by a non-collusive certificate executed pursuant to Section 103-d of the General Municipal Law. The Town of Hunter reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids received.

Short Term Rental Law – Now in Effect

As of 7/26/2023 the Town of Hunter passed the Short-Term Rental law No. 2. This requires all Short Term Rentals in The Town of Hunter to obtain a permit to operate.

If you would like to apply for a Short Term Rental Permit, please fill out the application below in its entirety and mail to the Town of Hunter P.O. Box 70 Tannersville NY 12485.
Applications are also available and may be filed in person at Town Hall in the Building Inspector’s office.

If you are currently in the process of renting your property, you have 180 days to comply with this law. Every property obtaining a permit is required to undergo a fire and safety inspection in addition to undergoing the application process.

NOTICE OF SUBMISSION OF QUESTION TO VOTERS OF THE TOWN OF HUNTER AT THE NEXT GENERAL ELECTION

Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to NYS Education Law section 259(1)(b), and in accordance with the provisions of the NYS Election Law, the following question will be submitted to the qualified voters of the Town of Hunter at the General Election to be held on the 7th day of November, 2023:

SHALL THE ANNUAL CONTRIBUTION OF THE TOWN OF HUNTER FOR THE OPERATING BUDGET OF THE MOUNTAIN TOP LIBRARY BE INCREASED BY TWENTY-EIGHT THOUSAND ($28,000) DOLLARS TO THE SUM OF ONE HUNDRED TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($112,000) ANNUALLY.

Request for Proposals – Local Flood Analysis

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN; the Town Board of the Town of Hunter is issuing an Invitation to Submit Proposal from qualified bidders for the execution of a local flood analysis equivalent in the hamlet area of Lanesville as outlined in the Proposal. A copy of the Proposal may be requested from the Greene County Soil & Water Conservation District in writing or in person during regular business hours, by telephone at 518-589-6871 or email at michelle@gcswcd.com. Proposals will be accepted per the terms of the Invitation to Submit Proposal until 12:00 PM on August 3, 2023. Proposals will be opened and read aloud at that time.
